Luca is a Fire Scientist working on the small-scale burn experiments for the Fuel Mapping & Fire Physics Team. His research focuses on combustion applications, from material flammability onboard a spacecraft to wildland fires. He also has interests in image analysis, computer programming, and science communication. He holds a doctorate in Engineering Sciences from the joint doctoral program of UC San Diego and San Diego State University. He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa.
