Data Scientist and Geospatial Analyst, Spatial Informatics Group

Andrew is a Machine Learning Analyst contributing to the Climate Change & Fire Projections Team. He specializes in using machine learning and large, real-time datasets to improve environmental management decisions. In his work with Pyregence, he helped develop the wildfire risk modeling tool using the machine learning suite in Google Earth Engine. He also serves as an Information Systems Analyst with UC Merced, where he works on computational models that integrate machine learning methods. He is skilled in ArcGIS products, Google Earth Engine, Python, machine learning, and statistics. Andrew holds a master’s in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
