Policy Lead and Project Advisor, Spatial Informatics Group
Ashley is Policy Analyst for Pyregence and Policy Lead and Project Advisor for Spatial Informatics Group. With expertise in climate change, renewable energy, and natural resources, she works to translate SIG’s cutting-edge science into policy. Ashley is adept at incorporating scientific information and uncertainty into decision-making and using an interdisciplinary lens to solve climate and energy challenges. She serves as the principal investigator for nature-based solutions to climate change at the California–China Climate Institute at UC Berkeley. She also mentors women through the She Shares program and serves on the advisory board of the UC Davis Graduate Program in Environmental Policy and Management. Ashley previously served as the deputy secretary for climate and energy policy at the California Environmental Protection Agency, and as renewable energy program manager and presidential management fellow at the US Bureau of Land Management. Prior to those roles, she empowered youth through educational, outdoor, and research programs in both California and the Northeast. Ashley holds a master’s from the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara and a bachelor’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University. She lives in Sacramento.
